AIPPics Desktop Server Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 25, 2026
This policy explains what data AIPPics Desktop Server ("the server", made by AISKSoft, "we") uses, where it goes, and what we store. Short version: the server runs entirely on your own computer, your photos never leave it unless a device you control moves them, and we hold no data about you or your installation unless you explicitly link it to an optional AISKSoft account.
Your photos and videos
- The server stores photos and videos in a folder on the computer you install it on — a folder you choose during setup.
- It never uploads your content anywhere on its own. Photos move only when a device you control (the AIPPics phone app, AIPPics Desktop, or a browser on your own network using the built-in web gallery) explicitly lists, uploads, downloads, or deletes them, directly over your local network.
- We never receive, see, or store your photos, videos, or album structure.
Local network
The server advertises itself on your local network via mDNS/Bonjour so the AIPPics app can find it, and accepts connections from any device on that network that has its shared password. It does not check in with any AISKSoft server on its own, unless you link it to an account as described below.
Server password and recovery
The server's password and the access tokens it issues are stored only in its own local state folder, on the computer it's installed on — we never see or store them. If you configure your own SMTP settings so the server can e-mail its lost-password recovery PIN directly, those SMTP credentials also stay in that local state folder.
AISKSoft account (optional) — password recovery only
Linking a server installation to an AISKSoft account is entirely optional, from the server's own web admin page ("AISKSoft account" section). If you link one:
- when you use "Forgot password?", the server asks our account service to e-mail a one-time recovery PIN to the address on that account;
- we do not receive your photos, your album structure, or the server's own password through this link — only what's needed to identify the linked account and deliver that one e-mail.
If you already have (or create) an AISKSoft account, see its own Privacy Policy for what we store about the account itself (e-mail address, hashed password, sign-in records).
What we don't do
- No advertising, analytics, or tracking of any kind are built into the server.
- We do not collect usage statistics or crash reports.
- We do not sell or share data with third parties.
Children
The server is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update it on this page and change the effective date above.
